AP African American Studies Research Showcase
Experience the future of Advanced Placement courses at Legacy Talks X: an AP African American Studies Research Showcase, hosted by Eisenhower High School on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Inspired by the dynamic spirit of TEDx, this first-of-its-kind event features AP African American Studies students from across the Inland Empire as they present powerful, independent research projects that bridge history with modern insight. Each participant will have 3 minutes to present their driving AP African American Studies research question, and will be asked one oral defense question from the course and exam description.

AP African American Studies independent research projects are not due to be submitted to the College Board until May 31, 2026. Legacy Talks X student participants are going beyond the course requirement to practice their presentation skills, while inspiring the next generation of AP African American Studies students to register for the course.
Research Project Overview:
Students in AP African American Studies will embark on an individual project to explore four related sources on a topic of their choice and then present and defend their analysis of those sources. The project aims to deepen student understanding of their topic and help them develop disciplinary skills.
